You are listening to A living Testimony By Karen Clark Sheard
The youngest member of the popular gospel group, The Clark Sisters, Karen grew up with music and scripture under the
tutelage of her mother, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, founder of the Clark Conservatory of Music in Detroit. The sisters reached
the height of their popularity in the 1980s and '90s, recording several popular albums and earning music industry awards as
one of the top gospel singing acts in the United States.
Karen began considering a solo career when producer/songwriter Stanley Brown heard
her perform and encouraged her to record. A deal with Island Inspirational Records followed in 1997, and Clark-Sheard released
her debut CD, Finally Karen, producby Brown, Donald Lawrence, and James Moss. A joyous, spiritual romp, the album was
recorded live at Detroit's Bailey Cathedral and contains many songs with personal meaning to Karen. So please support her.
